The Regulatory and Audit Oversight Associate (RAO) will largely support global control programs which mitigate operating risk across functions by proactively identifying and resolving operational risk exposures including assisting in the assessment of the end-to-end control environment through the effective management and partnership with the wider Compliance organization.

Compliance has established a control organization whose function is to ensure the LOB has a sustainable end to end control environment, to identify and escalate issues with a sense of urgency, to ensure issues are addressed appropriately and timely mitigation of control issues. The position will be based in Singapore.

Your future team :

The RAO team works in partnership with the Compliance business, adding an additional line of defense, to identify, understand end to end, and effectively manage the risks in our current environment as well as in new business initiatives. The RAO team also assists in immediate, real time critical control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and ensuring the remediation plan is appropriate. In addition, the team partners with all other control functions - Compliance, Technology, Risk, Audit, and Legal.

The position requires a strong knowledge and background in controls management, process improvement, development & analysis of procedures, as well as, training facilitation.

What you will be responsible for :
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Global Core Controls procedures to ensure continuous compliance with firm Procedures & Standards including Oversight & Control.
  • Support the Core Control Team in ensuring end to end control environment and procedure compliance for their respective business area
  • Evaluate consistency of control standards and programs across regions and LOBs, Regions, Products, Locations, and across Functions
  • Provide guidance and on the ground training on the following key areas but not limited to controls, controls substantiation, root cause analysis, etc.
  • Drive and execute special projects of the Compliance organization

What skills and experiences we are looking for:
  • Minimum of 5 years of audit, procedure management, compliance or operational experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Inquisitive and proactive in identifying risks and proposing solutions
  • Solid understanding of internal control concepts with the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy of controls by considering business and regulatory risks in an integrated manner
  • Effective critical thinking, project management, analytical and communication skills (i.e. communicate effectively at all levels of the organization)
  • Possess sense of urgency, intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to synthesize large amounts of information and propose recommendations
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment, quickly assess situations, and capitalize on change
  • Individual must be results driven, have attention to detail, has passion for driving best practices, and skilled at diplomatically breaking down barriers and obstacles
  • Ability to directly address conflicts and escalate issues where appropriate
  • Demonstrated experience as a key contributing member of a high performing organization
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management in a persuasive manner
  • Works well individually and in teams, shares information, supports colleagues and encourages participation
