Job Description

The role will be responsible for managing end to end accounting process of Lazada payment business from regional perspective. This role will work closely with system technical teams and local/regional finance to ensure successful system rollouts, streamline the accounting process, enhance existing financial systems integrity with strong reconciliation process, and supporting the reporting deliverables. This role reports to VP, Finance Systems and Integrity at Group (Accounting & Control).

Responsibilities
1. Manage the end to end accounting and reporting process of Lazada payment business
• Understand all systems and processes involved in AR, AP, GL processes
• Adapt as business evolves
• Communicate and explain the accounting processes to local finance teams, and provide guidance as necessary
• Support month end closing

2. Designing and monitoring reconciliation process at the identified key control points between systems
• Work closely with tech team to deploy reconciliation monitoring tools, e.g. dashboards
• Periodic review/monitoring of key reconciliations

3. Drive the deployment of finance systems in local countries from regional accounting
• Work cross functionally with different finance teams and other function groups to translate business process to accounting requirements to technical requirements for development and vice versa and flag out potential issues/concerns related to

(a) compliance with accounting principles and policies, and
(b) meeting reporting/ analytics needs, and
(c) standardization across the Group.
• Support testing and go-live

4. Continuously look for improvement in building up a more efficient financial process, with effective internal controls and reconciliations.

5. Participate in other projects as required

Job Requirements

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting
- Minimum 7 years' experience with at least 4 years in managing accounting systems and processes
- Prior Fin Tech experience would be an added advantage
- Ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to work within tight timeframes, manage multiple priorities and demonstrate flexibility as priorities change.
- Detail oriented with excellent communication (written and verbal) and organization skills.
- Knowledge of US GAAP or SQL or SAP is plus
