Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Financial Analyst to be a key member of AWS Worldwide Public Sector Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing divisions within Amazon. The AWS Public Sector team is paving the way for innovation and supporting world-changing projects in government, education and nonprofit organizations. This role will support the WWPS Finance to help drive growth of the business by providing analytical insights to business leaders, driving core financial and business processes and goal setting, and development of investment frameworks. As a Financial Analyst, you will work closely with finance leaders to develop financial models and analytical insights to assist in evaluating new business concepts, turning insights into operational measurements, and identifying paths to improve overall planning and forecasting process

Key job responsibilities
The successful candidate will be highly analytical, process-oriented and able to work effectively across multiple finance and business teams.

Create, improve, and maintain financial metrics, reports and scorecards used for consolidation reports.

Collect, analyze and manage quantitative data to create meaningful analyses and models that drive business decisions.

Lead processes to facilitate consolidation process and reports.

Partner with finance technology partners to streamline reporting infrastructure and automation.

Partner with the wider public sector FP&A team to work on monthly / quarterly deliverables.

Basic Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
• BA / BS degree in finance, business, economics or a related field
• Analytical, financial modeling and reporting skills required
• Demonstrated ability to influence decisions through effective verbal and written communication
• MS Excel Skills required

Preferred Qualifications:
• Robust analytical & modelling skills required

• Strong business and finance partner experience

• Track record of managing deliverables from multiple stakeholders to meet challenging deadlines

• The ability to self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment with competing deadlines

• Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy

• Experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos or Essbase), SQL, Tableau, Quicksight
