Senior Financial Controller ASICS South Africa

As Senior Financial Controller South Africa, you'll be the go-to person and specialist for financial management, financial forecasting and financial reporting in South Africa. A broad and responsible position in which you manage and coach a credit controller and accounts payable executive. You are the business sparring partner for local teams like marketing and commerce. And you'll work as one team with the European Financial team situated in The Netherlands.

Confident enough and with specialistic knowledge you'll find your way and get things done. And always with an eye for detail. You love to work operational but are also eager to re-build efficient processes. As the financial right hand of the GM, you play an important role within our South African ASICS team.

We're looking for a flexible and hands-on team player with a strong focus on timely, accurate and complete reporting, and on embedding internal controls. Due to the importance of the job, we are seeking a high calibre candidate who is working closely together with the EMEA members in the Finance team: e.g. Accounts Payable, Tax, Credit Control and Business Control.

Reporting, analysing, but also communication skills are key in all the processes.

Based at our South African Headquarters in Cape Town and reporting to Barry, General Manager ASICS South Africa, as part of the role you'll:

• Produce accurate and complete financial and business reports and records.
• Take care of cash flow management, banking portfolios, Intercompany facility, trading accounts and ad hoc financial matters.
• Be the key user for SAP within the finance function.
• Make sure of the statutory compliance relating to the Companies Act, SARS, POPIA and all other respective 3rd parties.
• Are the local business partner regarding KPIs, seasonal forecasts and any other key operational areas of the business.
• Oversee full accounting function from general ledger to Income Statement, Balance Sheet and related reports.
• Oversee accounts receivable division and ensure collections and credit risk or exposure is at an acceptable level.
• Oversee accounts payable division in terms of company credit facility, payments and cash flow.
• Responsible for the Audit in terms of Group compliance and Local statutory compliance.
• Full analytical review of P&L, and BS on a monthly basis.
• Financial budgets, retail forecasting and budget preparation

What we're looking for

• Few years of experience in a Financial Management position with a track record as a Financial Controller.
• You are responsible, are an example for other Financial Controllers and are used to working with deadlines.
• Working knowledge of IFRS is important.
• Experience with MS Office and it would be great if you have experience or affinity with CA, CIMA, SAP, BI en QlikView.
