We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a Professional Chartered Accountancy Practice located in Norwood. The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing the tax and accounting compliance requirements of High Wealth Individuals, Family Business and SME's and drafting of taxation advice when required.

Start: Immediate availability

Length: Full-time ongoing

Hours: 8:30am - 5pm (38 hours per week)

Salary Range - $60-70k + Superannuation

The Role
  • Provide services to the firm's clients in a variety of industries
  • Preparation of income tax returns and special purpose financial reports for a wide variety of clients, predominately high wealth individuals, family business and Small Medium Enterprises
  • Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and effectively by meeting technical standards, deadlines and within job budget with complete working papers
  • Liaising with ATO and general correspondence in relation to income tax, PAYG & GST matters
  • Preparation of Business/Instalment Activity statements and Fringe Benefit Tax returns
  • Researching and preparing advice on various taxation issues including, but not limited to, taxation structuring, and capital gains tax issues including consideration of the broader professional and commercial context and implications of activities performed
  • Develop rapport with existing clients
  • Assist Senior staff with the practical implementation of advice, improve business processes, preparation of cash flows, forecasts and budgets
  • Management of personal work in progress (WIP) and preparation of fees
  • A general understanding of taxes including income tax, GST, FBT, stamp duty, payroll and other indirect taxes
  • Other duties as required.

Experience Required
  • Degree qualified in commerce, accounting or equivalent and eligible for membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants or CPA.
  • Proven work experience in a professional services firm
  • Working towards completing CA or CPA Program
  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive client relationships
  • Competent with MS word, Excel, Xero, Sage Handisoft and MYOB
