The Role

This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to the next phase of the Finance CI journey aimed at growing CI capability, delivery and mindset in Finance. The role provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real difference by improving performance and embedding a CI culture.

Where does it fit in?

As a Centre of Expertise for the function, Finance Operations (FO) also supports the wider CI deployment in Finance, either through dedicated CI specialists or in support of CI teams within FiB and works with other CI teams across Shell. The CI organization is one pillar of the Operational Excellence organization.

As Continuous Improvement Portfolio Lead, the role will support the finance operation in achieving the delivery of their Continuous Improvement programme to improve key metrics performance, generate bottom line value savings and add business value.

Your responsibilities:

  • Teaching to fish: equipping teams with the right behaviours and skillset to drive CI everyday
    • Coach team members, peers and management on the consistent lean behaviors.
    • Drive trainings to ensure CI methodology and culture spread across
  • Finance CI staff as change agents – CI leading improvement
  • Identify and implement concrete improvement initiatives in the field of defined finance process
  • Support senior management with analyses to find, quantify, and prioritize cost savings ideas and customer experience improvements
  • Help sponsors develop & implement an effective CI deployment strategy including Smart Automation (SA) opportunities aligned with business strategy
  • Finance CI as integrator: integrating the components of Operational Excellence
  • Share best practices & enable replication
  • Connect interdependent processes systems, data & people to deliver End-to-End improvement
    • Support, identify, and implement the improvement in pipeline and on roadmap

What do we need from you?

  • Min 5 to 6 years of experience handling hands on CI related role.
  • Understanding of Lean, Continuous Improvement and Excellence Practices.
  • Combination of a lot of curiosity with a low-ego, „get your hands dirty” and self-starter attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Coaching skills, ability to operate in a highly matrix structure.
  • Training and Facilitation competencies, paired with excellent time and project management skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with associates at all levels of the organization (from shop floor to boardroom).
  • Ability to generate enthusiasm with colleagues on CI methodology as a business necessity.
  • Ability to work in a challenging, continuously evolving international environment.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, Agile Certification, Project Management – on plus but not required on this level. We will give you an option to develop.
