Apply your talent where it counts. Assistant Accountant - Costbase Would you like to develop your skills within finance whilst working in a varied role supporting stakeholders? We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Accountant at our site in Samlesbury.As an Assistant Accountant, you will be working with the Finance Manager offering financial support and information to the business teams on a monthly basis. Including (but not limited to) monthly budget holder reviews, Reforecast and IBP, journal processing, raising of invoices, support in raising of PO's, weekly cash forecasting, driving understanding of toolsets and financials in the wider business. This role will provide you with a great opportunity to develop your skills whilst supporting budget holders and the wider teams.Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Accountant will involve:
Compilation of the annual IBP process for business areas supported in line with Costbase Capability Centre deadlinesConduct monthly cost base reviews with Budget Holders, ensuring the following are reviewed for accuracy and understoodEnsure appropriate financial controls and governance are in place across the cost base areas of ownershipRaising Purchase Requisitions and support raising of PO's as requiredAccurate and timely completion of month end accruals and prepaymentsEnsure transactions processed are robust and provide sufficient back up and raised in line with policiesEnsure significant cash transactions for business areas supported are accurately forecast in the weekly cashActively participate in Costbase Capability Centre team meetings, including presenting at team meetings where appropriateYour skills and qualifications:
Part Qualified Accountant CIMA/ACCA/ACA, or AAT qualifiedDetailed knowledge of relevant financial systemsProficient in using Microsoft products including excel, word, power-pointAbility to prepare both detailed and summarised information whilst adhering to deadlinesAble to develop effective working relationships and be flexible in a changing environmentStrong communication skills both verbally and writtenWhat we are looking for in you: You will be confident to financially challenge in a way to add value to the business whilst being proactive, with a forward thinking and collaborative approach.
