The opportunity

Your key responsibilities

As an Audit Manager, your job will be to provide independent verification of our clients’ compliance with accounting principles. By doing so, you play an important role in helping businesses accurately reflect their financial picture and, in turn, protect financial markets.

Your client responsibilities:

• Execute the audit process effectively with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters;
• Implement fieldwork on clients sites and liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of the audit process;
• Demonstrate expertise in primary accounting frameworks (BE GAAP, IFRS and/or US GAAP) and in related financial reporting matters;
• Establish proficiency in using our EY Global Audit Methodology to perform an assurance engagement in compliance with International Standards of Auditing (ISA) and/or US PCAOB Auditing Standards;

Skills and attributes for success

• Supporting the planning, executing and delivering in assurance engagements
• Working effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress
• Assisting in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties
• Building strong internal relationships within EY Assurance and across other services
• Coaching, supervising and conducting performance review and contributing to performance feedback for staff
• Maintaining an educational program to continually develop personal skills of all staff

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Graduates from Finance/Audit/Economics/Accounting
• Thorough knowledge of current auditing techniques
• At least 5 years of work experience with audit client in the following sectors: either Telecommunications, Oil&Gas or GFS;
• Experience of the entire audit process
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP
• ACCA affiliate/member.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Understanding of risk-based auditing and risk and control strategies
• Understanding of Q&RM procedures
• Compliance with and understanding of regulatory requirements
• Good written and verbal knowledge of Azerbaijani, English
• Proficient IT skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
