Position Overview
As the Market Risk Manager you will be a member of the Market Risk team in Hong Kong. The team supports the regional Equities business by providing new product approval, stress testing and quantitative analysis of the market risks in the portfolio. The role requires interacting, and building strong working relationships with many other departments including both the front office and infrastructure functions in HK, and market risk teams across the region and globally.
Key responsibilities:
- Daily monitoring of Global Markets Equities (GME) APAC risk positions and changes in the portfolio
- Daily monitoring of GME APAC limits with requisite action when necessary
- Daily review of APAC economic, financial and equities market news and price movements
- Deep dive portfolio reviews
- Stress testing of the GME APAC portfolio
- Risk factor reviews
- Audit and regulatory inspection preparation
Key skills:
- Grad/post-grad degree in a quantitative discipline
- Experience working in a Market Risk position at an Investment Bank, minimum 3 years
- Broad financial market and product knowledge, preferably in Equities
- Detail-orientated and numerically literate
- Excellent communication skills
- A reliable team player with the motivation to work in a dynamic, international and diverse environment
- Solid experience in using large datasets with experience in relevant software packages, e.g. MS Excel, MS Access, VBA, and SQL. Experience with additional programming languages is a plus
- Able to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines
