Job description:

Within Finance & Business Management the Technology Business Management function optimizes business performances by helping to drive key initiatives. We act as trusted advisors and counterweight to Business/Group Heads, and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks. The role of a Business Manager is dynamic and can vary in line with the priorities of the different lines of business.

Short description for internal candidates

The CIB Technology Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group is responsible for Business Management, Chief of Staff and CFO activities for all CTO groups.

This role operates at pace in support of the CTO groups covering Global Strategic Programs (CIB Program Management); EMEA CIO & EMEA Branches and CIB Strategic Transformation. Key stakeholders will be the Strategic Programs CTO and Management team; EMEA CIO, EMEA Branch Senior Technology Officers and EMEA Technology Leadership team; CIB CIO Chief of Staff, CIB Tech Product Control, Global CIB Tech Business Manager, and CIB Controllers team

This role will require the development of a strong partnership with the local (LE) and global finance partners, technology controls groups as well as the management teams within the supported CTO groups.

Core responsibilities:

  • Act as trusted business advisor and partner to the supported CTOs and their management teams. Be a full member of the respective management teams, lead the EMEA CIO leadership meeting.
  • Provide CTOs with transparent, forward looking financial reporting and analysis; calling out risks and opportunities in support of the CTOs agenda. Manage, analyse and syndicate program financial reports. Manage workforce tracking and reporting – ensuring the CTO is compliant with CIB Tech Workforce standards
  • Manage headcount approval, tracking and reporting. Manage the end to end tracking process, balancing demand drivers in a flexible way to support the CTOs
  • Compile and lead monthly Business reviews for local, regional and global stakeholders.
  • Business Performance and Planning - Support annual business budget process (in conjunction with Tech Product Control); ensure optimal resource budgeting and allocations to achieve business priorities; oversee investment / productivity initiatives across the end-to-end business to achieve multi-year targets; provide project and business case reporting to program managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Be the CIB EMEA Regional Inter-affilliate agreement (IAS) lead. Manage offshoring/outsourcing models – review and approve billing models and charters.
  • Manage maintenance and approval process for cost centre and account hierarchy changes
  • Own regional technology OCIR signoff for cost centres and allocations for key regional Critical Services.
  • Attend the EMEA Technology Leadership Meeting and other sub-regional EMEA governance forums as EMEA Regional Technology Finance lead; provide financial analysis as required. Own the EMEA Regional Significant Program list (definition, syndication, approval).
  • Own the EMEA Regional technology LE allocation budget; syndication and approval. Ensure the Technology budget for JPM SE (Single European Bank) is agreed and approved in accordance with regulatory agreed process.
  • Support ad-hoc demands from the CTOs as needed.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Up to 5 years of relevant experience in global organization, preferably in a role with cross-LOB or regional impact.
  • Educated to degree level; an MBA or experience in finance/accounting is a plus
  • Finance, Business Management or strongly related experience – this is not an entry level F&BM role.
  • Experience in the design, development, compilation, analysis, generation and distribution of reports and executive level presentations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Skills:

  • Strong project management skills; Proven track record in process improvement/change management and leadership;
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Results oriented with “hands-on attitude” and exceptional organizational skills; the ability to context-switch is essential.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Effective delegating, planning and time management skills to meet tight deadlines
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to build strong cross-business relationships with stakeholders at all levels, yet lead a small professional team operating at capacity.
