Your field of responsibility

The position is a meaningful role within our global SOX 404 Compliance program. The role will be passionate about functioning as a key team member to ensure adequate governance of the global SOX 404 Compliance program and support various SOX 404 control topics, COSO / Company Wide Controls work and global projects as well as maintaining relationships with partners within the global SOX 404 program and across the organization. Responsibilities will include issue assessments and quality assurance reviews of COSO controls among other things.

The open position, based in Pune, is a key role within the Group Control Topics team as part of the SOX 404 Compliance program. You will function as a ‘Global Deputy Manager’ (corporate title = Assistant Vice President). This will include responsibility to assist with the management of various SOX 404 control topics, COSO / Company Wide Controls work, global projects and working with resources in Zurich and Pune.

As Global Deputy Manager, your responsibility includes:

  • Function as a deputy representative for the Group Control Topics team
  • Perform a variety of SOX 404 and COSO control related projects, ensure timely delivery thereof, resolve problems as they occur and raise to manager if required
  • Perform SOX issue assessments on matters arising from a variety of channels (e.g. reported operational incidents, internal audit reports, etc.), assess and detail the severity of identified SOX control deficiencies
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of COSO control framework
  • Develop and manage key relationships across a variety of functions and seniority levels
  • Assist with the preparation of supporting data for use in various management & committee reporting (e.g. Global SOX 404 Steering Committee, Group Audit Committee, etc.)
  • Liaise closely with counterparts who work in a regional or global capacity within the SOX program
  • Support the line as it relates to the application of the SOX 404 guidance.

You will be working with the Group Control Topics team.

Head of the Group Control Topics team, led by a Vice President based in Zurich, has the mandate to manage group control topics. The Group Control Topics team is part of Group SOX 404 Compliance Program Management and Group Business Process Controls (BPC), led by a Director based in Zurich, which has the mandate to manage compliance with SOX 404 rules for Credit Suisse Group AG (CSG) and Credit Suisse AG (CS). The program is global with regional teams based in Raleigh, London, Zurich, Pune and Singapore.

BPC Program is part of Group Finance (GF) Operational Risk & Control (ORC), led by a Managing Director based in Zurich. GF ORC identifies, manages and measures the operational risks within CFO functions through key CSG level programs such as Global SOX 404, General Ledger Account Ownership (GLAO) and Regulatory Reporting Programs. GF ORC is also responsible for carrying out planned and ad-hoc Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs) across GF and certain support departments.

Your skills and experience

Required Work Experience/Background:

  • Degree in accounting and/or finance is essential
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant and understand US GAAP
  • 6 – 8 years of SOX 404 relevant experience – achieved either at the Big 4 (on multinational coordinated audit engagements, which are PCAOB compliant) or at a multinational bank (within SOX 404 compliance, Group Finance, Internal Audit, etc.)
  • Outstanding experience in SOX 404 issue assessments
  • Experience in financial services and understand how a multinational bank operates
  • You understand the US GAAP accounting standards, processes and typical key controls relating to operations, finance and product control
  • You have experience working on a global-team and interacting with colleagues both locally and overseas
  • You are focussed and able to build and manage positive relationships across the organization
  • You can articulate and effectively communicate with partners at different seniority levels
  • You are organized, analytical and have the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines timely
  • Result oriented, dedicated, hardworking who can work on own initiative and can deliver on time under pressure with a high level of integrity and flexibility, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards
