Retail Banking Services Finance acts as a partner to the Retail Banking Services (RBS) business unit and other business units (our customers) to help them succeed with the Bank’s goals and their business unit responsibilities. This is achieved by providing financial information and business advice to support our business units to build sustainable shareholder value.
Retail Banking Services Finance forms part of the Financial Services business unit whose vision is to make a difference on the things that matter.
Do work that matters
- Financial and Management Reporting responsibilities relating to RBS Product (Home-buying, Consumer Finance, Everyday Banking) expenses and productivity management, including Budget, Actuals, Forecasting, Monthly business reporting and Wave productivity.
- Business-partnering with the Product Finance team, this role has direct business engagement including EGMs and GMs.
- To achieve success you will ensure that operational and financial processes result in timely and accurate financial results. You will need to understand the processes which derive the financial results and ensure suitable controls are in place to ensure ongoing resilience and reliability.
- Ad hoc Commercial and Strategic Insights used in business performance monitoring and decision making.
- Key enabler of Expenses Forecasting and Budgeting process for the Product business with a focus on highlighting financial opportunities/risks and insights.
- Provide insight and analysis on end to end expenses and productivity financial performance to the Product Finance team including providing advice in terms of productivity initiatives and funding requests.
- Input to Product Strategic Initiatives.
- Input to Product Risk initiatives.
- Key member of the Expenses and Productivity team of 10, focusing also on strategic initiatives and cross-collaboration.
We’re interested in hearing from people who have
- Graduate qualifications in a numerate discipline preferably finance, business or economics
- Post graduate qualifications preferred (CA/CPA, MBA, SIA)
- Financial Services experience preferably in a banking environment (3 years+)
- A mind for problem solving, and simplifying complex processes using a structured and logical approach.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and critical thinking skills.
- Leadership skills (leading with vision and values)
