As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Manager in providing financial and commercial support to the Business Bank (BB) Technology leadership team and Business Bank Change Investment Portfolios.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Technology and Operations (T&O) Finance (Business Bank Technology).

T&O Finance is responsible for the provision of financial management services to the Technology and Operations Business Units. Technology and Operations delivers the Group’s information technology and banking operations functions to ensure the highest levels of customer service through world-class process excellence and technology innovation.

More about Your Team

The T&O Finance team partner with Technology and Operations to deliver on their annual budgets, forecasts, expense reporting as well as providing deep, insightful analysis to support decision making at all levels. This also includes investment spend support on current and future strategic programs of work that will deliver on the Bank’s overall strategy.

Your duties & responsibilities include:

  • Provide decision support services including financial information, insights and advice.
  • Month-end P&L production, including financial control and balance sheet substantiation
  • Provide guidance and advice on financial performance, delivery against financial plans and forecasts including financial impacts of investment decisions.
  • Develop and deliver meaningful insights to drive better business performance. Including identification of cost optimisation opportunities, provision of objective analysis and underlying trends that may represent emerging issues.
  • Manage the monthly financial activities and deliverables for your business stakeholders. This includes P&L and Balance Sheet substantiation, journal preparation and review, monthly variance analysis and maintaining high standards of financial control
  • Monthly financial reporting for Business Bank assigned programs and projects including constructive challenge and analysis of performance, investment spend and capitalisation.
  • Prepare and validate monthly General Manager and Cost Centre Manager reports.
  • Assist in co-ordination, preparation and development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, including driver based plans in support of insightful analytics and business performance management
  • Ad-hoc business & financial analysis which supports timely and high quality business decision making

Your skills and experience will include:

  • CA/CPA/CFA qualified with up to 3+ years post qualification experience
  • Proven financial modelling and analytical skills
  • Advanced presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present data in a meaningful and impactful way
  • Continuous improvement mindset and drive to make things better
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, supporting multiple stakeholders
  • Project accounting and/or IT Finance experience desirable
