Financial Controller

Due to a relocation within the team, my client is looking for a Financial Controller to come in and be responsible for the day to day running of the reporting and financial integrity team and its activities. You will also work closely with the FP&A, AP and AR teams.

My client is family owned multifaceted business who have continued to grow over recent years, largely through acquisition. The business now turns over close to £75 million.

Description

• Preparation of timely and accurate management accounts for use by the business

• Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and supporting audit information, including group consolidation.

• All other legal and statutory financial reporting requirements including VAT returns, P11Ds and corporation tax returns.

• Maintaining relationships with external advisors such as auditors and tax advisors

• An efficient and smooth-running statutory audit process

• Oversee the compliance of financial controls, identify weaknesses, and instigate improvements

• Developing team members and department processes

• Supporting the Board with ad hoc financial and business information

Profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

• Experience with managing finance teams

• Providing support to the budgeting and planning cycles

• Experience with the preparation of financial statements

• A good working knowledge of FRS102 and Companies Act requirements

• A good all-round understanding of VAT, payroll taxes and corporation tax

• Would likely suit someone with a hands-on audit background

• Confidence in communicating with stakeholders at all levels

• Excellent team working skills and preferably experience of leading and being involved in Finance projects

• A strong attention to detail and approach to problem solving
