In a fast-paced, high-growth environment, making data driven decisions is critical. The EMEA AWS Solutions Architecture (SA) organization is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to better enable our decision-making using data analytics. Your role is critical and highly visible across the organization and plays a key role in developing analytic insights. The insights are used to lead decision making around resource allocation, program effectiveness, productivity analysis and business impact. You will work closely with the EMEA SA leadership team and the WW Operations team and drive operational efficiency of field activities. Your customers are Business Operations Managers, individual Solution Architects, SA management, and AWS senior and executive leadership.
The successful candidate is analytical and possesses a passion for developing insights from data. In addition, you should be able to communicate those insights effectively to business stakeholders. This requires excellent business acumen and communication skills as well as the ability to work with business leaders to develop and define key business questions. The successful candidate will also be able to collect information and design the analysis model that answers these questions. The candidate will demonstrate critical analytical thinking and and the willingness to dive deep. Lastly, the successful candidate should be have technical proficiency in SQL, data visualisation tools (preferably Tableau/AWS Quicksight) and be self-sufficient in data retrieval, cleansing, analysis and visualization.
The successful candidate will have strong business acumen and possess excellent statistical and analytical abilities. They will focus on creating actionable insights and recommendations and not just gathering data. They will have passion for data and analytics, be an independent innovator comfortable with ambiguity. They'll have strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. Business Analyst in our team, some of your responsibilities would be:
• Apply analytics and business intelligence skills to extract meaningful insights and learning from large and complicated data sets.
• Conduct and present analyses on service usage trends, task prioritisation, resource allocation, program effectiveness, productivity analysis and business impact to different stakeholders including the senior leadership team.
• Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support the needs of the business.
• Build various data visualizations to tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers through rich visualizations.
• Interface with cross functional teams, gathering requirements and delivering complete BI solutions.
• Access, manipulate, and join disparate data sets using SQL and Amazon Redshift.

• Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, or an equivalent quantitative field
• 8+ years of experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analyst role.
• Expert-level skills in writing and optimizing SQL to handle large datasets.
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
• Great organizational skills and attention to detail; able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex technology solutions to senior leadership, gain alignment, and drive progress.
• Advanced ability to draw insights from analysis, frame recommendations supported by data, and clearly communicate them to stakeholders and senior management.
• Understanding of relevant statistical measures such as confidence intervals, significance of error measurements, development and evaluation data sets, etc.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analyst role.
- Experience using relational databases (e.g. Redshift) and SQL for querying and extracting data.
- Experience using data visualization platforms (e.g. QuickSight, Tableau, PowerBI) for effective data presentation.
- Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and complete root cause analyses.
- Experience conducting deep dive analyses of business problems; identifying root cause of business trends, formulating conclusions and recommendations. Experience in determining optimized plan of action to deliver comprehensive BI solutions: identify and implement solutions to automate and streamline processes and analysis; producing written recommendations and insights for key stakeholders to help them make decisions.
- Fluent English communication, written and verbal.
- Good presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
