Agency Overview

Infrastructure NSW is a NSW Government agency providing independent, evidence based advice to Government in relation to infrastructure priorities and projects. Its functions and structure are set out in the Infrastructure NSW Act.

Our core functions include providing independent and strategic advice to ensure infrastructure investment decisions are underpinned by robust assessment and long term planning; monitoring NSW's infrastructure program through independent reviews and expert analysis; recommending infrastructure projects to the NSW Treasurer for funding from the Restart NSW fund; and managing the procurement and delivery of nominated priority projects.

About the Role

As anInfrastructure Assurance Manager you will have a high-impact role responsiblefor the review and reporting to Cabinet on some of the largest and most highprofile projects being developed and underway in NSW. Under the guidance of theExecutive Director, you will ensure timeframes, budget and risk issues areeffectively raised within government.

Working acrossdelivery agencies, regular tasks will include formal project progress/peerreviews, project and portfolio reporting, monitoring performance of deliveryagencies against budget and schedule, supporting and developing recommendationsto mitigate project issues and contributing to whole of government initiativesto improve outcomes for the delivery of government buildings and infrastructurein NSW.

The role isunique in government and is not audit or accounting role. The role is focusedon the built environment and requires knowledge of the development and/or deliveryof infrastructure or buildings from a government or private sector perspective.The role has high exposure across senior levels and the whole of Governmentinfrastructure program.

AboutYou
You may have abackground and qualifications in any one of a number of areas (projectmanagement, engineering, architecture, law, building/construction, economics) but you need to have a passion forinfrastructure delivery, building relationships and collaborating with yourpeers.

You should bedynamic and proactive with a keen interest in making a difference for thecommunity through the successful and timely delivery of infrastructure (whether road, rail, hospitals,schools, green infrastructure, prisons, creative industries, stadia or courts).

The role is unlikely to suit those with an auditing or ICT project management background.
