The role

The Capability Building Lead – Accounts Payable (AP) will be a member of the AP Process Excellence team. The Knowledge Management (KM) function exists to help the flow of knowledge in the organisation such that business goals can be met. The purpose of this role is to deliver critical knowledge management capability to AP process teams, in response to their knowledge management needs as aligned with business requirements, through an effective and sustainable knowledge management Solution.

This role is responsible for promotion of knowledge management practices, tools and knowledge networks within the AP community, and, manage related data, documents and policies. It will define and develop roadmap of learning programmes together with HR Learning, to improve process capability and effectiveness, and become trusted business partners and advisors.

This role will develop effective partnerships with HR Learning, Knowledge Management Network, AP Leads to deliver holistic KM solutions to business requirements and will represent AP in KM Focal Points Forum or network to identify and develop KM best practices that can be used.

Accounts Payable (AP) in Finance Operations performs activities supporting various Shell businesses and entities and as a global team AP operates out of 3 locations - Manila, Krakow and Kuala Lumpur.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and deliver learning agenda for AP and maintain deep understanding of the business drivers and challenges.
  • Ensure provision of the most effective learning solutions/interventions to meet defined Business needs, leveraging global learning offerings and expertise, and ensuring appropriate focus on the 70/20/10 learning philosophy.
  • Engage routinely with AP Senior Leaders to establish learning requirements and build a learning culture.
  • Work with Line Managers and HR Learning to ensure appropriate learning agenda is delivered.
  • Work with other finance teams for both internal and external audit of non-technical training programs for required compliance with internal and/or external standards.
  • Comply to Shell Internal Audit, External audit, records management to meet the necessary requirements, etc.
  • Ensure learning metadata and records are properly documented Ensure accuracy and visibility of learning spend (whether internal or external) by managing formal learning cost allocation, reporting mechanism and highlight discrepancies of spend if any
  • Constantly look for avenues to create learning visibility locally and globally (e.g. Learning Boards, TV screens, Monthly posters, Email communications, etc) Continuously raise awareness for Knowledge Management Work with operations to establish resourcing strategy and succession pipeline.
  • Lead and oversee the development and delivery of communications strategy within the organization Maximize and leverage existing communications channel including Sharepoint, Yammer and others.

  • Getting buy-in of Senior Stakeholders with differing views and aligning groups with differing needs and different agenda

Skills and requirements

  • Good experience in knowledge management analysis, knowledge management network development, project management in a corporate environment
  • Previous experience of working in a learning or knowledge management function is a must
  • Experience and exposure in communications activities and initiatives for large teams
  • Self-starter and successfully complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Work effectively within a diverse, global team.
