JOB PURPOSE

The Manager/ Assistant Manager assists the Senior Manager and/or Director in daily deliverables to provide excellent service to clients. They provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports, submitting the reports to the client and are able to coach junior staff in the department.

To do and be responsible for the completion of clients requirements, ranging from accounting requirements to tax compliance as set out in the Service Agreement within budgeted hours so that all TMF, client and statutory obligations are achieve.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that monthly or quarterly reporting and all compliance requirements are completed for all clients at the standard expected and within the timeframe as requested by the client
  • Ensure client work and internal work is completed within budgeted time and any out of scope client work is reported to meet budget utilization and realization targets
  • Coordinate, delegate and review work of junior and senior staff
  • Handle full set of accounts and bank operations for clients
  • Assists to manage daily work with high complexity, including closing full set of management accounts, annual financial statements, corporate tax affairs , and other tailor made management reports/ financial analysis
  • Review and first sign-off of work prepared by the team including:
  • Bookkeeping and accounting for various clients
  • BS and P&L accounts reconciliations
  • Month end reporting
  • BAS returns
  • Final review for IAS if required
  • Assist Senior Manager/manager in the new client on –boarding process including preparation of on-boarding plan, analysis and planning of operational needs/resources and implementation.
  • Maintains relationship with clients and internal/external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, Taxation Office and other government departments on client company’s affairs, accounts, bank accounts, tax filing, etc.
  • Query management with internal and external- 3rd party stakeholders
  • Assist senior Manager/Director in preparing proposal for clients
  • Assists Senior Manager/Director to oversee daily operations of the Accounting and Tax Compliance department and to implement internal control procedures
  • Assists Senior Manager/Director to train & coach junior staff
  • Assists Senior Manager/Director to follow up on Debtors list (client invoices)
  • Prepares and checks various reports as requested by clients
  • Prepares and supervises accountant audits
  • Attend client meetings when required
  • Liaising with TMF office network as require in delivery of services
  • Assist with client billing and WIP management
  • Complete ‘Know your Client’ procedures for clients
  • Supervising, coaching, and developing Junior and intermediate members of staff
  • Supporting management in respect maintenance of (and compliance with) internal policies and procedures
  • Start to proactively identify new business opportunities from existing client portfolio
  • Supporting management with initiatives to improve internal systems and process efficiencies
  • To prepare and participate in regular performance reviews
  • To discuss with the team members and prepare a personal development plan / discuss this with Manager

  • Keep accurate records by coding correctly timesheets in ViewPoint
  • Ad hoc duties as and when required

JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree holder with recognized accounting qualification or business related disciplines
  • Minimum 5-8 years relevant experience in CPA firms or multinational companies with minimum 1-2 years ina managerial role
  • Completed Professional qualifications in CA or CPA
  • Excellent knowledge of local/international accounting, local taxes and banking practices
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office application (advanced excel a must)
  • Excellent people management skills
