NTAM Performance & ANALYTICS
The team is responsible for preparation of monthly and/or quarterly investment reports combining portfolio analytics, performance and attribution with portfolio commentary. Preparation of ad-hoc reports to internal and external clients as required. The Team supports the investment associates in meeting the client’s needs and expectations.
The team calculates investments performance results for clients and funds using consistent, standard methodologies that are free from bias and audits the data to comply with GIPS. They interpret and present these results in a manner that enables partners and clients to understand investment performance and assets under management.
Team oversees the development and maintenance of a competitive and profitable product set and client order management operation through the establishment and execution of best policies, processes, procedures and governance.
Profile Summary:
Senior Analyst is responsible for
- Follow specific procedure for each type of client investment reports, questionnaires; retrieve the data from applications by carefully following Investment Associates instructions
- Understand the different investment performance calculation methodologies and the underlying data dependencies to calculate Rate of Return and develop the ability to identify and investigate returns that is out of tolerance
- To produce both regular and customized analytical reporting by referring to various applications
- To assist in new projects, initiatives, and client issues as required in relation to this function.
- Calculate the fund’s monthly performance returns and compare against the benchmark, investigate if difference found. May require extracting performance data from external custodian websites
- Responsible for following up with both internal and external partners to ensure data required to calculate the performance is received in a timely manner in order to meet the performance due date
- Create ad hoc reports as per instructions from Investment associates and account managers
- Produce and Analyse Attribution Reports
- Respond to RFI/RFP queries from consultants and Investment associates
- Identifying and Investigating outliers using analytical tools
- Reviewing, updating and implementing new processes and procedures as required, to enhance operational controls
- Individual has to gain knowledge of applications such as Investment Passport, PACE, Aladdin, Eagle, Bloomberg and Factset.
- Develop a thorough understanding of Northern Trust Investment Products
Skills / Experience
- Graduate (MBA or equivalent is preferred)
- 2-4 Years of experience and good understanding of investment reports, return calculation fund management and market knowledge
- Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credibility and foster excellent working relationships with internal and external partners
- Work well with people in the same department, both locally and globally
- Imagination to Excel: Initiate and support pragmatic innovation within the local business area and advocate to integrate the business into global standards and specifications
- Advanced Microsoft and VBA skills would be an advantage
- Advanced Microsoft Access/Database skills preferred
- Attention to detail and commitment to deadlines are required
- Ability to adapt quickly to change
