This requirement is for Global Reconciliations operations team.
Evaluates and reconciles funds including mutual, commingled, and collective for production of client month end reports or for daily valuation. Verifies transactions, reports within scheduled timeframes according to audit standards and resolves exceptions on a daily basis for fund accounts. We also support static data maintenance, risk reporting & rules development functions. All these functions comprises of partners who support Northern Trust business in conjunction with our global network of operational partners.
This position will perform reconciliation activities to ensure a qualitative and quantitative output while achieving all the relevant SLAs.
Major duties
- Adherence to procedures and SLA’s.
- Identifies and manages resolution of service delivery root causes.
- Initiates frequent, proactive communication with the Client Admin/ Middle offices to verify perceived levels of satisfaction and demonstrate proactive service.
- Play a role of SME and able to train the new hires
- Proactively communicate the procedure updates to the team.
- Responsible for following established guidelines and identifying and resolving problems.
- Full ownership for one or more processes, reports and/or procedures.
- Analytically and procedurally competent, representing the team on cross-function process or project deliverables.
- Emerging as an expert in a specific skill set but remains focused primarily on daily execution
- Ability to handle, escalate and resolve queries in a timely manner
- Perform Root Cause Analysis of Errors and suggest controls
Knowledge / Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication & presentation skills
- Working knowledge of financial / capital markets (e.g., Good understanding of financial instruments, operation of capital markets, lifecycle of trade, Net Asset Value etc.)
- Good understanding and ability to articulate current role / functional process
- IOO and custody business knowledge will be an added advantage
- Demonstrate through examples /evidence excellent written and verbal language skills, collaboration, analytical acumen, “raising your hand”, sense of urgency, escalation channels/process and attention to detail
- Working knowledge of Excel and good knowledge of TLM tool
- Sustainable performance demonstrated through examples/evidence, the above listed core skills and competencies in the current role over a period of 24 month
Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years in the current role and relevant experience in the financial services industry
- Degree in Finance/Commerce [preferably].
- An operations environment background, from one that is deadline driven with a strong focus on controls, targets, change and challenging the norm.
- Knowledge of Reconciliations production and Research [preferably].
