Role: Property Finance Manager
Purpose of role: 
The Property Finance Manager provides financial and strategic support to key commercial and strategic initiatives in the business, in particular, working alongside other business areas to protect and drive growth from both the existing and proposed property portfolio. The Property Finance Manager will be a key part of the Property Finance team and will be responsible for managing and mentoring more junior members of the team.

The Property Finance Manager position is a key part of the Property Finance and wider financial business partnering teams; the principal aim of which is to focus on partnering with key stakeholders in protecting and driving growth of the existing and proposed property portfolio in current and new markets. Working with leadership and key stakeholders, the Property Finance team support, advise and critically challenges strategic and operational property related decision making across all markets in Europe and the United States bringing analytical, commercial and strategic insights to drive property portfolio optimisation performance and value creation.

Key responsibilities
  • Act as a lead financial partner for some of the key commercial and strategic initiatives involving the current or future property portfolio within the business.
  • Bring new ideas to the Property Finance / Property teams and to the business, solving issues and shaping property related strategy.
  • Focus on head-up, forward looking activities to help maximise opportunity to create value within the Property portfolio but also within the wider Business partnering team in terms of strategic initiatives and key value add projects
  • Partner with Property / Retail / Store Development to formulate and manage delivery of new store opportunity assessments, lease re-gears, rightsizing and long term investment plans
  • Responsible for the management, guidance and mentoring of more junior members of the Property Finance team
  • Influence key stakeholders across the business to achieve desired financial outcomes
  • Work collaboratively to construct compelling pieces of analysis for the leadership team and Property Board, outlining issues, opportunities and solutions overseeing development & ensuring output is insightful & actionable
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders within Finance, Primark and externally to deliver results
  • Monitoring and measuring the impact and effectiveness strategic projects to ensure consistent delivery and commercial impact
  • Communicate project progress to all levels throughout the organisation with a focus on financials and value

Successful candidates will meet the following criteria:
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) and/or MBA with 5+ years progressive experience working in a strategic or finance, commercially focused finance role, in a consulting practice or industry
  • Property Finance background and experience assessing / advising Irish and international commercial property transactions required
  • Knowledge of advanced corporate finance, due diligence, long term investment appraisals and tools necessary
  • High level of property, commercial and financial acumen with the ability to formulate and clearly communicate analysis, insight and recommendations for future strategies
  • Has worked in a fast-paced property finance team, preferable in retail/FMCG
  • Action orientated with the ability to identify and drive opportunities for growth, working cross functionally, not just identifying a problem or solution but making the change
  • Strong work ethic and very comfortable working in an ‘unstructured’, consultative setting, with a focus on value creation
