Job Description

As a Business Manager you will join Valuation Control Group (VCG) Global Business Management team, which is part of J.P. Morgan’s Corporate Controllers organization. It consists of five individuals assisting global VCG team as their trusted advisors, helping drive various business initiatives, and providing organizational support. The teams are now extending their presence in EMEA region in Warsaw to meet the business' growing needs.

Valuation Control Group is the firm’s independent control function with responsibility for verifying the valuation of all assets and liabilities held on the balance sheet at fair value and to ensure that firm’s positions are accurately recorded at fair value.

You will report to Business Manager located in London, the UK, and will team up with him in supporting approximately 44 team members in EMEA split across Warsaw and London office locations.

Your Future Main Responsibilities:

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AND PEOPLE AGENDA

  • You will be acting as a trusted advisor to regional leads on ways to continuously improve and evolve the group.
  • You will work with other members of Business Management team to run annual employee performance evaluation process across Analyst and Associate roles.
  • You will also be supporting various external regulatory requests as well as different business projects and initiatives of the leadership team and J.P. Morgan’s legal entities across EMEA.
  • You will be helping to prepare and consolidate materials for audit and regulatory meetings, attend and record the minutes for senior management review & publication.
  • You will drive the weekly team meetings by collaborating with other team members to build the agenda. Expectation from you will be to make these inclusive and also drive some social events.

REGULATORY REVIEWS AND AUDITS

You will lead, coordinate and support: 

  • selected internal audit activities and external communication with auditors and EMEA banking regulators;
  • reviews & updates to various governance standards documents, firmwide fair valuation policy and business resiliency plans;
  • ongoing & upcoming European Central Bank reviews. 

Role Requirements

  • You will succeed in this role if you hold at least Bachelor’s degree and already possess strong analytical abilities, innovative mindset, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point and are willing to contribute as part of a high performing team.
  • Within 2-3 years of your previous professional experience in roles like Business Support Manager, Program Manager, Project Coordinator, Product Controller or Team Assistant, with some basic Finance experience, you have already demonstrated many of the following:
  • you are able to learn quickly and synthesize complex subjects as well as collate and interpret information from various sources into actionable business insights and conclusions;
  • you know how to easily partner and effectively communicate with as well as influence your colleagues, managers and other stakeholders at various levels of the organization;
  • you are able to autonomously drive and manage initiatives with minimal formal structure within a matrix team structure;
  • you can effectively prioritize;
  • you show high attention to detail paired with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills;
  • you are capable of building and delivering presentations while running efficient and productive meetings;
  • you are a curious, critical and innovative thinker with sound judgement and ability to challenge constructively both as individual contributor and part of a team;
  • you can effortlessly communicate in English in business environment.
