About the opportunity

The Compliance Monitoring Officer is a critical role, contributing to the delivery of successful business outcomes within Bupa to ensure appropriate business practices are being met. The key focus of the Compliance Monitoring officer will be conducting independent monitoring activities to confirm quality assurance standards and ensuring that the activities of the Group are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory obligations, contractual requirements and internal policies and procedures.

Your key responsibilities will include;

  • Work with the Compliance Monitoring Manager to identify compliance risks for individual reviews as part of an approved Monitoring Plan (or for ad-hoc reviews as required).
  • Work with the Compliance Business Partners and business stakeholders to identify key controls in place to manage the identified compliance risks and, in conjunction with the Compliance Monitoring Manager. develop testing/monitoring approaches for these controls.
  • Conduct process walkthroughs and sample monitoring to ensure Bupa compliance risks are being appropriately managed by the business in accordance with applicable regulatory obligations, contractual obligations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Formulate initial findings based on monitoring activities for controls and, with the support of the Compliance Monitoring Manager, work with the business to agree appropriate improvement actions.
  • Draft initial reports which articulate compliance risks, findings and agreed actions

Your background

To be successful in this role you will possess the following experience:

  • Degree qualified in Business or Commerce
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar Compliance, Risk or Internal Audit position
  • Experience working in a Mid-Tier or Big-4 Risk/Internal Audit function highly regarded
  • Experience in the healthcare or private health insurance industry preferred
  • Customer focused mind-set with a strong track record of exceeding expectations
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Proven ability working in a team environment
