Management Accountant

Overview:

Join our busy and expanding finance team and help us to support the business during this period of rapid UK and International expansion.

Reporting to the Group Reporting Manager, you will play a key role in the provision of accurate accounting and reporting for all entities.

What you’ll be doing:

• A significant role in the month end process, including ownership of specific areas of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
• Calculating and posting journals for various accruals and prepayments in key areas of the UK and International business.
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations including identifying and following up on reconciling items.
• Investigate and prepare narrative explaining variances to budget and prior year for key expense categories.
• Responsibility for filing of overseas VAT returns, Intrastat and EC sales listings.
• Support the Group Reporting Manager with the annual audit process.
• Identify opportunities to continuously improve financial systems and processes and implement these changes.
• Produce ad-hoc reports to communicate financial performance to management with recommendations.
• Ongoing non business as usual project work within the finance team as and when required.

We’d love to meet someone with:

• ACCA qualified accountant
• Proven experience as a Management Accountant in a commercial environment
• Retail experience highly advantageous
• Advanced excel skills
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, to prioritise work load and deliver accurate information on time to a high standard
• A proactive individual who takes ownership of their tasks
• Open, friendly person who is keen to develop and work as part of a team
