This role is key in ensuring the control and smooth running of a growing businesses finances and to engage with the business with regular, reliable reporting and proactive insight and advice.
Client Details
My client is an SME organisation which operate in the hospitality/catering industry. They have experienced high growth over the few years and now looking to recruit a Finance Controller to help look at further growth plans and possible acquisitions.
Description
Preparation of accurate and timely commercial and financial information:
- Monthly Management Accounts to senior management team,
- Monthly bank reporting
- Monthly analysis of performance by customer and product range
- Monthly reporting to budget holders, both profit centres
- Maintenance of monthly forecast model
Management of annual audit and tax returns.
Checking of weekly and monthly payrolls (external provider) for accuracy.
Implementation and monitoring on controls and procedures. The company has grown quickly and the Financial Controller is key to the ongoing review of process and procedures to ensure appropriate for the business.
Overall responsibility for ensuring the efficient and smooth day-to day running of the finances of the company to include:
- Maintenance of Sales and Purchase ledgers P+L , Balance sheet
- Management of working capital and short term cash flow
- Credit Control , bank account, treasury, VAT
Be involved in commercial decisions, supporting the sales and operations teams with proactive information, insight and ad hoc modelling.
Responsible for financial systems and the flow of information to/from operations systems and bank.
Profile
- Qualified accountant (or equivalent) with over 5 years proven experience.
- Demonstrable hands on management experience.
- Confident and professional approach, with an ability to communicate at all levels.
- Excel to the level of pivot tables, vlookup and other data manipulation and modelling tools.
- Working capital management and bank reporting.
- The company has grown quickly and is fast moving so this person needs to help lead this growth.
- Resilience and persistent in challenge existing processes and procedures.
- Attention to detail and good with data.
- Someone who doesn't want to spend all day at the desk but to get out into the warehouse or preparation area to find out what is going on and be involved.
- Someone who wants to make the role their own and grow with the business.
Job Offer
My client is offering in the region of £70,000- £80,000
