Accounting Officer Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of one of the country's longest-established business support organizations in the private sector, the Accounting Officer will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the organization's accounting records, and ensuring that all financial transactions are properly and accurately recorded and fully supported by authorized documentation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Accurate collation and recording of financial data in the organization's books of account. Reconciliation of control and clearing accounts. Provision of management information and financial reports monthly or as required. Verifying that all cheques issued are accompanied by an authorised payment voucher and supporting documentation. Ensuring bank reconciliations are done monthly. Liaising with bankers as the need arises to resolve any issue. Preparation of employee payroll Follow-up collection of receivables. Providing supporting information for the preparation of the annual budget. Monthly adjustment of the balance sheets of all accounts as well as the preparation of the income and expenditure data for all events. Ensuring that all accounting procedures are adhered to including detailed accounting of GCT. Preparation and filing of all annual statutory and company returns. Ensuring control and accountability for all assets, through annual inventory review and update of insurance records. Liaising with external auditors to ensure the timely completion of the annual audit. Liaising with bankers, insurers and solicitors regarding financial transactions. Any other related financial duties that may be assigned from time to time. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 1 st  Degree in Business Administration, Management or equivalent professional certification Proficiency in Accounting software, MS Office and other commonly-used software Minimum of 10 years experience in accounting Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality requirements. Analytical capacity. Capacity to prioritize multiple projects and adjust workload accordingly.
