Finance Manager - SME

Managing a team of 9 who are well rounded, confident workers who know their roles well. Managed through appraisals, day to day working and KPIS.

This role will report to the Head of Finance but with a fantastic opportunity to take financial controller role within 12 months which will then mean that this role will report directly to the shareholders.

Description

- Responsibility for the day to day running of the finance department, and overseeing all areas (purchase / sales ledger, credit control etc.)

- Management accounts for larger business, including all balance sheet reconciliations.

- Financial reporting to management for all businesses.

- Review of management accounts for smaller business.

- VAT Returns (UK & IE)

- Payroll reconciliations & submitting of information to outsourcer.

- Responsibility for MI reporting for all key customers.

- Commercial financial support to tenders, quotes for sales team.

- Financial support to purchasing.

- Budget and forecast preparation.

- Cashflow control for all businesses and accounts, including payments to HMRC.

- Direct liaising with Directors and key people in the business.

- Project work across the business to improve financial viability.

- Compliance responsibility for HMRC.

- Preparation of year end accounts.

- Development of processes and systems to improve efficiency across the department.

- Support management in all financial areas.

- Adhoc project work as requested.

Profile

• Preferably qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
• You will have a minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role or management accountants role
• Management experience preferred but not essential
• Positive and proactive approach with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
