The role of solicitor provides in house legal expertise and advice to the university and will involve managing the university's legal responsibilities including compliance with statutory requirements. Main legal issues include advising on and negotiating contracts and agreements, advising on corporate governance and business/company structure issues, commercial licences and other arrangements. Statutory compliance includes data protection, freedom of information, copyright and company law requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the other members of the Corporate and Legal Affairs team, including the University Safety Office and the Office of Research Ethics, in addition to other areas of the university, in particular UCD Research, the Finance Office and NovaUCD. The position is will be expected to primarily deal with contracts and other types of agreements but also cover other areas of work that the Legal Office deals with. Salary Scale: €56,035 - €85,595 per annum Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines Closing Date: 17:00hrs (Local Irish Time) Friday 8 September 2017.
