A leading Finance role overseeing and developing a team of transactional staff and partnering closely with the Director and the Board. A broad role, this position will take ultimate responsibility and ownership for all financial reporting, controls, budgeting and more. The role is expected to last for between 3 - 6 months.

Our Client are a construction business currently working on a major project.
Description
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing a team of transactional staff
- Running the appraisal process for monitoring staff performance
- Developing and monitoring the KPIs of the business
- Taking ownership for all financial reporting to strict monthly deadlines
- Month/year end reporting including preparation and review of management reports
- Review of controls including balance sheet control account reconciliations
- Explanation of variances to plan and forecast with proposals for corrective action
- Preparation and review of year end schedules to assist with the audit process
- Ad-hoc project based work
- Ensuring compliance
Profile
The successful candidate will:
- Be a Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Have relevant experience with the Construction sector
- Have experience managing and monitoring a transactional team
- Have a contract and/or project accounting background
- Have the ability to determine relevant KPIs and report against these to provide insight
- Be able to control and own a comprehensive monthly reconciliation and review process
- Be able to review and have experience reviewing all financial outputs
- Be a well rounded accountant with a strong understanding of both management and financial accounting with good technical knowledge
- Have an understanding of VAT, CT and PAYE, ideally in a Construction environment
- Be a good communicator and commercially aware
- Be a strong self-starter able to adjust quickly and with minimal handover
- Have a good level of computer literacy including all MS Office products
