Tax Assistant with Study Support

A rapidly growing, multinational construction business based in the Greater Manchester area is currently looking for a Tax Assistant to join their expanding team. This team is going through a period of significant growth and they are now in need of an ambitious and driven individual to assist the Tax Manager with a range of tax related tasks.

Description

You will be responsible for, but not restricted to:

• Working alongside the Tax Manager on a variety of Corporate Tax Projects for the organisation

• Assisting with corporate tax compliance for the organisation

• Prepare accounting calculations, journals and notes for statutory accounts purposes including deferred tax and balance sheet reconciliations

• Assist with the preparation of group VAT returns and liabilities and optimise VAT recovery

• Provide VAT advice to Finance and the wider business

• Prepare employer tax year end returns

• Undertake analysis of accounting records for Tax and Finance purposes

• Assist the UK tax Manager in providing tax advice to the Finance and wider functions

• Ad hoc duties when required

Profile

The successful candidate will be a driven self-starter who is eager to expand on their knowledge and continue a career in tax. This opportunity will be for someone who is currently studying or, ideally, completed their ATT (or ACA) qualification. The opportunity to undertake the CTA qualification will also be available.

Job Offer
