Junior Treasury Analyst

Purpose of the job:

To support the Treasury Desk in day-to-day tasks which will give the Head of the Desk and the Money Market Dealer more time to focus on the core activity of the Desk - funding the Branch and the Bank's network/managing the interest rate/liquidity risk. The Junior Dealer will be trained to assume certain dealing activities with the objective of becoming a Money Market Dealer in due course.

Description

Key tasks

i) Daily input into Front Office system (MUREX) of all loan/deposit, fx and derivative transactions.

ii) Maintenance of Desk spreadsheets used to monitor current activity and inform decisions re future funding and liquidity.

iii) Perform end-of-month rebalancing of funding of internal books.

iv) Liaise with other desks in the Branch in order to ensure timely awareness of future funding requirements.

v) To manage day-to-day cash positions in different currencies, perform fx swap transactions and place surplus amounts in interbank money market.

vi) Monitor daily spot fx positions and close out those positions where required with market transactions.

Profile

Experience and skills

• A level or degree with good mathematical skills
• Minimum 2 years' experience within either Back Office or Front Office banking environment
• Good understanding of Treasury Dept and related products: FX/MM, Futures and IRS.PROFILE
