As part of a multifaceted team, this position focuses on Amazon's Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) business. This position supports and directly influences the launches and automation of SVOD systems and the wider Digital Accounting space. The Financial analyst will work closely with the global financial systems team, accounting operations teams, tax, treasury, and others on new initiatives to provide integrated accounting requirements to the business teams. The successful candidate will partner with our operational accounting and business finance groups in developing strategic solutions to support our high growth rate through launch methodology design and training, creation of accounting tools used to support new launches and design inputs to longer-term platform development.

Key job responsibilities
• Review of various monthly/quarterly/annual deliverables in relation to the group's digital business to support both internal and external financial reporting, accounting and controllership.
• Monthly review and sign off on certain digital content related balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate/resolve any variances
• Preparation of US GAAP/IFRS technical accounting memos on digital content contracts
• Working closely with the content acquisition team to understand new contracts and the associated accounting implications
• Providing insightful analysis and understanding of performance
• Reporting in line with the group timetable
• Quarterly review and sign off on certain estimates related to the digital business
• Quarterly review and sign off on certain SOX 404 key controls associated with the group's digital business
• Quarterly preparation of the group's digital commitments schedule and reconciliation with Amazon Finance
• Ad hoc, cross functional project work, including, but not limited to, accounting/process integration with Amazon systems and policies.
• Working closely with business partners in UK, EU, and globally to identify process improvement opportunities for existing processes and controls, and drive positive change across the organization

Basic Qualifications:
• ACA, CIMA, ACCA or similar credentials required
• Relevant post qualification accounting experience (public practice/industry mix preferred)
• Strong focus on controls, with experience and knowledge of the Accounting monthly close cycle, periodic financial reporting and related analytical analysis with knowledge of various GAAP accounting rules including US GAAP, UK GAAP and IFRS
• Candidates must have demonstrated an ability to successfully lead complex, milestone driven projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent analytical skills (Excel, Access)
