About the Role

As a Finance Apprentice in Group Finance at Next, you will have a unique opportunity to gain experience across technical and varied areas of finance:

    Group AccountsTaxInternal auditTreasuryPensionsCompany Secretarial

Based at our Leicestershire Head Office, you'll quickly learn the skills needed to help your team provide all kinds of vital support for a wide range of processes. The Apprenticeship scheme is expected to last around 18 months and should enable you to gain a CIMA or ACCA certificate level, fully supported by the Company.

**Please note that we will be running an Assessment Centre for these Apprenticeships on Thursday 3rd March at our Head Office in Enderby, Leicestershire**

About the Role:

    Work with the Group Accounting team to produce monthly consolidated management accounts and budgets, giving you an oversight of the performance of the entire Group.Assist with the production of the interim and year-end consolidated financial statements, which are published to shareholders.Support the Internal Audit team who are responsible for checking the control environment for the NEXT Group. You will work as a trusted partner to the business to help perform audits and provide advice to minimise risk and add value.Work with the Tax team ensuring compliance with UK and international Tax laws and practice.Support the Company Secretarial team who are responsible for ensuring the NEXT Group are compliant with the laws and regulations that govern us as a large PLC.Learn about some of the work undertaken by our Group Treasury team including how the Group manages its currency risk, cash and debt

Criteria

About You:

    Excellent educational achievements including 3 A Levels or equivalent qualification and good GCSEs in Maths and English.Strong IT skills.Enthusiastic about studying for an accounting qualification – you’ll even get support from the business to do this!Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your workload and ensure challenging deadlines are met.Naturally clear and confident communicator who can share ideas and findings in an engaging and logical way, as well as being able to build relationships with a range of colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
