Finance Officer Grade V

The Organisation:

Stewarts is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive community based services to people with an intellectual disability. We support people with a wide range of support needs across residential settings, day services, supported independent living, job advocacy and vocational training.

Purpose of the Post:

Financial accounts preparation, include monthly bank reconciliations, monthly closing journals, revenue accounting, including working with external organisations to ensure full income is recorded billed and collected, cash flow management and forecasting, Revenue returns management, manage and reconcile all Enterprise income for Stewarts, and accounts analysis.

Involvement in annual audit and internal audits, risk management and creation and setting of accounts policies. The successful candidate will be the assistant manager in the Finance Department and will deputise for Management Accountant as required.

Candidates must meet the following criteria relevant to the role:

  • An accounting qualification, at a minimum IATI.
  • Strong technical accounting experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of accounting systems.
  • Experience in credit collection and working with government agencies.
  • Experience in dealing across functions in a large organisation would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Ability to take responsibility for accounting issues, and to assist and support the finance team
  • Strong ICT and reporting skills.



Salary and qualifications are in accordance with Department of Health & Children Regulations and HSE consolidated pay scales: Clerical Grade V - € 44128 - € 52926 LSI
