Job description

At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas

Business today is increasingly reliant on electronic methods to store information, and the management of that information has become a complex challenge. Information disciplines responsible for structured data, data security, information access management, master data management and functions typically in IT continue to be isolated from what is historically an informal arrangement between functions. Companies are increasingly looking to abandon the rigid division of information risks - information security, privacy, records and information management, eDiscovery and so forth - and instead enable these disciplines to work together to address risks that, in the real world, span across them. As a Senior Manager on our Information Governance team, you’ll be right at the heart of that goal. It’s a role with far-reaching implications, so you’ll be working with stakeholders across industries with some of the most innovative tools available.

The opportunity

With significant recent investment, we’re experiencing rapid growth in Information Governance (IG). Our Forensic & Integrity Services team is working with industry- leading technologies to develop innovative solutions to some of the most challenging information risk management issues around. Since we work with such a diverse portfolio of clients across industries, you can expect to take on a wide range of information governance challenges, making this a great place to develop your technical and business knowledge.

Your key responsibilities

With our clients increasing need to share information across the enterprise - and manage the risk associated with that endeavor – it’s no exaggeration to say you’ll never be doing the same task for too long. You’re likely to balance your time between directly liaising with our clients to understand their needs and challenges and create solutions using our suite of Information Governance services. It’s all about using your technical skills to creatively assess and resolve our clients’ needs from the front lines. That means thinking differently about how information is stored and accessed, and speaking up with innovative ideas that challenge the status quo.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Managing the key components of a portfolio of IG projects, including strategy, planning and execution
  • Constantly developing your understanding of our clients’ industries, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Developing long-term relationships across a network of existing and potential clients to maximize business development opportunities
  • Using technology to distribute your knowledge of leading-practice and enhanced service delivery
  • Developing your team through constant coaching and feedback, providing challenging goals and guaranteeing your people have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to grow

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree with approximately 8 years related work experience
  • At least one professional designation, such as CISA, CISSP, CISM,CFE, CFCE or EnCE
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize when working on multiple engagements
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, and the confidence to communicate complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences
  • A proven record of delivering information governance solutions to large, complex organizations
  • A quantifiable history of business development success
  • Ideally, you’ll also have - In-depth knowledge of NUIX, StoredIQ, Big Insights NoSQL, InfoArchive, Autonomy, Tableau or other information governance and visual data analytics tools

What we look for

We’re interested in passionate leaders, with the intellectual curiosity to actively pursue new knowledge in the rapidly changing world of information governance. Naturally you’ll need a firm technical foundation, as well as the ability to translate complex information into meaningful, actionable insights. But we’re not just looking for strong technical skills – we’re interested in people that have the ability to nurture relationships, both internal and external, and are committed to intimately understanding our client’s needs. If you’re looking to become part of a community of advisors where you’ll make a measurable difference across some of the most prestigious businesses around, this role is for you.

What we offer

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
