The Singapore Operations team oversees, shapes and grows the business in Grab Singapore. We contribute towards Grab’s vision of being Southeast Asia’s superapp by providing everyday services that matter most to consumers in Singapore. We develop and execute business strategies that help us achieve our vision in serving our community.

The Singapore Insights and Marketplace team is housed within Singapore Operations. We focus on delivering insights to inform business strategy, as well as optimizing the 3-sided marketplace made up of driver/delivery partners, passengers/ eaters, and merchants across the various business verticals in Singapore - including Transport, Food, Express and Mart. Our work contributes to timely and affordable rides for customers, enhances the incomes of our driver partners and merchants, while supporting business growth and profitability.

Get to know the role

  • Utilize both strategic and analytics toolkits to deliver data-driven business insights and strategic recommendations to senior management to act upon (e.g. customer segmentation and strategy, demand/supply strategy, channel strategy)
  • Support on high-impact analytics projects end-to-end including problem/issue structuring, analysis and managing stakeholders
  • Provide strategic advice on business-critical issues through rigorous analysis paired with structured, big picture thinking
  • Work with cross functional teams and senior management across multiple business lines, including GrabFood, GrabCar, Grab Express, Grab Rewards etc, to deliver high-impact initiatives arising from insights generated
  • Plan and structure analysis and experiments of marketplace issues (e.g. demand, supply, pricing) to optimize for business objectives (e.g. A/B testing, experiments)
  • Minimal travel required (The Day-to-Day Activities:

    • Understand strategic context of business objectives
    • Serve as a strategic, data-driven thought partner during discussions with business leaders
    • Design and structure experiments using A/B testing techniques
    • Query and perform deep analysis on datasets to derive insights
    • Problem solve for issues; weighing pros and cons and appreciating tradeoffs
    • Communicating with and managing stakeholders throughout working process
    • Create and present recommendations to senior business leaders

    The Must-Haves:

    • A bachelor’s degree in Economics / Information Science / Math / Statistics
    • 0-5 years of relevant working experience - for example, Analytics, Business Intelligence, Management Consulting, Strategy roles (especially in tech companies)
    • Working understanding of SQL and Python/R
    • Strong business sense - ability to articulate complex analyses and translate these to actionable business insights
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills and the ability to present complex subjects coherently to diverse audiences comprising generalists and specialists
    • Strong quantitative skills
    • Problem-solving & can do attitude - Willing to learn quickly and understand the root cause of problems; able to work with a multidisciplinary team to propose creative solutions
    • Attention to detail
    • Start-up attitude – willing to learn and work hard to get things done in a dynamic, ultra-fast-paced, volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA) environment
