Financial Accountant - Newly Qualified - Retail Banking - London - up to £60,000
Are you recently qualified and working in audit? Thinking about a move into industry? Interested in Financial Services?
One of the major names in retail banking services across Europe has an opportunity for an audit-trained accountant to join their Financial Accounting team in London.
You will play a key role in the preparation of monthly financial statements, accounting operations, accounts payable and reconciliation work. This will be a hands-on accounting role and provide a hugely sough after platform for your second, third and fourth potential moves after leaving audit.
As Financial Accountant your main responsibility will be around financial statements and the balance sheet. You will produce month end income statements and have daily overview of the balance sheet. You will be a part of the team responsible for providing financial reporting to Group as well as implementing new accounting policies.
You will be a team player who has a strong attention to detail and a recent accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA etc)
If you are moving straight from audit to industry, you will typically want to do a role that gives you a broad view of the business. You'll want to get involved in process improvement, teamwork, and develop a knowledge of controls following your audit days. This will give you the platform to develop long term into other areas of finance or progress up into Financial Controller / Head of Finance / FD type roles.
This bank has north of 50 people working in Finance in London, so you can expect the opportunity to progress and be promoted multiple times before ever needing to think about an external move to develop.
