Production Accountant

Due to a very healthy slate of exceptional programmes and opportunity has arisen to work within an established but growing TV Production company.

This position will work across a slate of documentaries, that are predominantly sports based, working closely with the production teams, central finance and the broadcasters and requires an experienced individual.

This will be a busy, interesting and varied role that will manage a junior team member.

The role:

* Support the Production Execs & Production Managers with production budgets and schedules, continuously monitoring and analysing spend
* Prepare cost reports for internal & external use
* Prepare production cashflows in line with schedule and monitor monthly income and expenditure
* Develop production finance plans and communicate with broadcaster/co-pro/distributor finance teams
* Ensure timely Broadcaster payments and are inline with agreements and approved milestones/budget
* Oversee the work of a Junior Production Accountant
* Manage payroll including monthly journals
* Ensure industry/broadcaster guidelines and procedures are adhered too
* Assist with tax credit calculations;
* Attend weekly Production meetings
* Report on production income and expenditure, analysing and advising on production recoveries and profitability.

The person:

* Solid Production Accounting experience
* A proven track record of accounting gained within the TV Production industry
* Knowledge of HMRC Film & Television industry, guild, ,tax, ,union and other relevant regulations and guidelines
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and challenge others whilst maintaining excellent working relationships
* Team management experience
* Ideally extensive experience of Production Accounting gained across multiple productions at any given time
* Solid understanding of the processes in TV production
* Able to work under pressure and to tight working deadlines
* A good understanding of production/funded development schedules & budgets
* Organised, diligent, self motivated and a great team player.
* Able to take initiative and a willingness to learn.
