Our Business Development function brings together business, sector and account knowledge along with EY competencies and solutions to meet unique client needs. The Business Development Organization shares and drives an integrated growth strategy across the largest accounts, the industry sectors, solutions and services, demonstrating and achieving market leadership through a client centric culture.
The opportunity:
The Market Segment Manager provides strategic and tactical deployment support for go-to-market initiatives within a large market segment (industry sector). You will work closely with market leadership to drive and support the execution of the market strategy with an ultimate focus of increasing pipeline, enhancing our relationships in the market and growing revenue.
Your key responsibilities:
You will play a key role in idea generation, project management, execution and measurement of go-to-market programs and initiatives. The key performance measurements for this role include market segment revenue growth, sales and pipeline management, delivery of exceptional client service and people and engagement teaming. You will be expected to develop and deliver strategies and enable robust account planning / account team meetings serving as a coach.
Skills and attributes for success:
- Ability to work with multiple, diverse stakeholders, across multiple channels while connecting common ideas and objectives
- Acts as a connector across the market segment driving strategy and activation through strategic communication
- Ability to analyze and interpret market segment reporting leveraging firm tools and data
- Ability to manage a portfolio of prioritized accounts including timely financial performance and pipeline analysis information, communication of key trends, opportunities and action plans specific to the target audience
- Provide strategic pursuit support and coach account teams on opportunities
- Ability to identify ways to optimize current processes and effectively team with others
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Approximately 7-10 years of experience, previous experience with account management or have worked in a business development organization
- Strong influencing skills are required to work with other members of the business development service line or market segment / industry sector team to drive results
- Ability to collaborate effectively and efficiently with other functional groups within EY
- Team player, willing to get involved in all aspects of projects
- Strong executive presence
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Strategic and creative mindset
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- In-depth knowledge of firm’s account management framework and strategic relationships / opportunity tools and processes
- Knowledge / expertise in the firm’s solutions and service offerings
- Strong business/commercial acumen and an understanding of major industry sector trends
- Ability to adapt quickly in an ever-changing environment
- Ability to utilize influencing skills, think strategically and proactively to drive results
