As a Senior Analyst, you will work in one of our Service Delivery Centers that is made up of high-performing US-based resources, who work closely with our experienced client serving professionals, to deliver project-based work and managed services to our US-based Financial Services clients. The opportunity

You will play a key role in defining and reviewing how hedge fund and mutual fund advisors meet regulatory, tax, and financial statement reporting requirements, using our new, proprietary EY-developed technology platform. Top tier hedge funds and mutual fund companies are assessing and onboarding to the EY platform, which brings together investment risk data, transaction, and holdings data into a single platform for workflow management, transparency, and accountability to lower reporting costs and streamline the regulatory filing, tax reporting, and financial reporting. Your key responsibilities

  • Understand the intricacies of hedge fund/ mutual fund regulatory and financial statement reporting.
  • Review, and approve the mutual fund regulatory filings NPORT, NCEN, and NMFP
  • Review Hedge Reporting CPO-PQR and Form PF as needed.
  • Review financial reports as need to ensure reports are completed according to client deadlines and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Review work of other team members to ensure accuracy and completion according to regulatory reporting policies and procedures.
  • Drive high quality work products within expected timeframes and budget.
  • Monitor progress manage risks and ensure leadership is kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
  • Resolve any exceptions trends in regulatory reporting reviews.
  • Work to develop and implement possible solutions to streamline processes.
  • Bring strong attention to detail, problem solving and critical thinking to ensure work is complete and accurate and escalate issues to leadership when appropriate.
  • Assist in the development and training of fund analyst and other team members as needed.

Skills and attributes for success

  • An understanding of mutual fund and/or hedge fund regulatory reporting
  • The ability to execute detailed procedures based on knowledge of fund financial statement and regulatory filing principles
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in mastering intricacies of hedge fund and mutual fund regulatory reporting, and financial statement reporting and the application of accounting practices on those financial statements and regulatory filings.
  • Develop relationships with team members across multiple geographic locations and time zones

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • At least 3 years of work experience in the asset management industry in a fund administrator role.
  • Experience or understanding of mutual fund or hedge fund accounting.
  • Understanding of various security type including, fixed income, equities and derivatives.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related discipline
  • Analytical skills, especially those related to fund accounting and fund administration
  • Experience with SEC Forms NPORT, NCEN and NMFP for mutual funds.
  • Experience with Form PF and CPO-PQR useful.
  • Experience with financial reporting.
  • Strong proven communication skills demonstrated through effective writing and presentations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Effective leadership, project management, and organizational skills
  • An interest in working in an environment which encourages continuous learning, development and identification of opportunities for improvement of individual and team performance.
  • A willingness to travel on an exception basis for client needs.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Strong interest in the hedge fund or mutual fund investment industry
  • Strong interest in regulatory reporting requirements or financial statement reporting
  • Experience overseeing the work of junior team members including coaching and mentoring
