Join us as a Senior Professional Practices Specialist within our leading edge Professional Practices team, where you will be responsible for progressing our principles-based Internal Audit methodology and using innovative approaches to enable audit teams to comply by design. Together with your Head of Audit you will define how practice risk within Internal Audit can be independently assessed and managed whilst maintaining Internal Audit’s position at the forefront of internal auditing practices both within, and beyond Financial Services. You will collaborate with Internal Audit’s senior leadership team to develop broad, insightful perspectives with depth. This role demands proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior Internal Audit stakeholders across multiple locations and time zones, excellent communication skills including demonstrable experience in preparing concise messages for Group Audit Committee level stakeholders, and strong influencing skills to improve how Internal Audit positively influences the Bank’s risk and control environment.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for:

  • Graduate or post-graduate qualification relevant to Internal Auditing in Financial Services
  • At least 10 years of experience in Internal Audit in Financial Services, gathered by working in multiple jurisdictions globally with the majority of this time spent in Professional Practices.
  • Deep understanding of audit methodology and quality assurance, regulatory requirements, risk and control matters in the field of Internal Audit. Extensive experience in developing and delivering technical audit training programs for all hierarchical levels of Internal Audit is expected.
  • Agile thinker with extensive experience in successfully designing, managing and implementing industry-leading change initiatives in Internal Audit Professional Practices.
  • Experience in designing and implementing Professional Practices data analytics strategies, including technically executing the analytics and visualizing the results through embracing innovation and new technologies
  • Strong analytical skills paired with an ability to see the bigger picture that helps Internal Audit take corrective actions that work. As such you have successfully operated with Internal Audit leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to deliver difficult messages and present information in a succinct and concise way to both Internal Audit leadership and Audit Committees.
  • Strong interpersonal and people leadership skills which set an inspiring “tone from the top”
