Responsible for the strategic and daily operational management of the Institutional Fund Accounting Division and Administrative Services Division within Corporate & Institutional Services, providing leadership and guidance to subordinate managers. The Fund Accounting Division is responsible for providing multiple services to asset owner clients that are predominantly defined contribution (DC) plans but also include governmental plans, non-for-profit trusts, and hybrid DC/DB plans.

Services include but are not limited to: daily valuation and NAVs, annual reporting, Form 5500 reporting, GASB reporting, and various other reports. The Administrative Services Division is responsible for providing an array of services and functions including: creating strong relationships with our clients’ recordkeepers, ensuring we deliver a robust cross-organization service, managing the onboarding of new clients and execution of client change events, providing liquidity analysis, asset rebalancing, and instructing mutual fund and company stock trades. The position has overall accountability for the strategic direction and ongoing management of the various functions, performance management and career development of partners, and deployment of operational and technical change.

Major Duties:

  1. Responsible for managing multiple units or functions through the direct management of a group of managers.
  2. Establishes and executes on strategy, direction, initiatives, policies and standards
  3. Establishes and use metrics to assure delivery vs. expectations, identification of and action on trends as well as adherence to standards
  4. Supports business growth through participation or providing talent for participation in sales, servicing and product development activities
  5. Optimizes resources, cost, service quality and risk mitigation globally and within the practice
  6. Carries out complex initiatives involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
  7. Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
  8. Advocates and prioritizes operating model and technical changes to transform functions in support with corporate goals.
  9. Works with sales, client service, and product to ensure evolving client and market requirements are supported and new capability built.

Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Proactive, dynamic leadership
  2. Extensive knowledge of the asset owner and defined contribution industry and related services
  3. In-depth knowledge of investment accounting for asset owners
  4. Multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical, business, and functional expertise
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  6. Strong operational & organizational management that enables scale and mitigates risk
  7. Highly flexible and adaptable to change, technology forward thinking
  8. Business strategy

Experience Required:

A College or University degree and relevant work experience is required. 15+ years of institutional (asset owner) accounting and operational management
