Our event calendar drives the NSW visitor economy and includes the NRL Grand Final, rugby union's Bledisloe Cup and cricket's New Year's Test. We host world famous athletes and entertainers at our venues and attract more than five million customers through the gates each year. The Venues NSW network includes major sporting and cultural precincts in Sydney Olympic Park, Moore Park, Parramatta, Newcastle, and Wollongong.Venues NSW was formed in December 2020 and is a commercially focused arm of the NSW Government. We collaborate closely with Destination NSW, major sporting codes and promoters to excite and entertain the people of NSW with a rich and varied calendar of major events.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our Moore Park team.Reporting to the GM Finance, the Payroll Manager is primarily responsible for managing payroll services across the Venues NSW network for all areas of payroll, employee self-service and award/agreement implementation, ensuring compliance and consistent interpretation of conditions of employment for all Venues NSW staff.The ideal applicants for the role will have the following skills & qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in payroll.
  • Solid understanding of awards and relevant legislation
  • Solid understanding of general ledger and reconciliation experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage payroll function ensuring compliance with all regulated legislation.
  • Manage and maintain the implementation of multiple complex enterprise and state based common law award interpretations within the payroll systems ensuring compliance with legislation & policies, over multiple Venues
  • Manage the submission of monthly superannuation and taxation declarations
  • Provide governance and compliance assurance across all payroll activities.
  • Provide costing analysis and business reporting as required for event settlements, financial reporting and other reporting and reconciliation activities as required.
  • Provide Workforce Profile Collections reporting to the NSW Public Service Commission, NSW Public Sector Wages Policy Schedule 2 calculations and Workers Compensation's reporting
  • Manage payroll processes for Tax Year End - STP (single touch payroll) processing,
  • Ensure high quality, efficient and consistent customer service to all Venues NSW Staff and stakeholders
