Job Overview:

Makesworth Accountants Pvt Ltd (Nepal) is looking to recruit a qualified accountant as an Accounts & Audit Senior with over 2-3 years of experience in accounts preparation and external auditing. We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join our team in our office in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, Nepal.

As an Audit Senior, your role includes leading audits from the planning stage through to completion whilst ensuring audit files have appropriate and sufficient documentation. You will prepare statutory financial statements from client data and highlight high-level risk areas or matters of concern to the Partner/Manager whilst using a significant degree of your own judgment. The candidate should have experience with a range of entities, including small and medium-sized companies in varying sectors including Retail, Wholesale, Education, Charities, and Solicitors. The role will consist of approx. 50% audit and 50% non-audit work such as preparation of year-end accounts and company tax returns, some bookkeeping work, and VAT returns.

Job Description:

The main job responsibilities for this role include:

• Preparation of financial statements from client's records
• Assisting in the planning, execution, and finalization of all areas of the audit 
• Prepare high-quality working papers or other deliverables timely
• Document testing adequately and clearly and to support conclusions
• Building relationships with onshore team members in the UK and providing them with timely status updates
• Identification of issues/missing information and managing and tracking open issues until it's resolved
• Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts
• Review the work of junior staff 
• Assisting clients with accounts and their queries
• Maintaining and developing strong client relationships

Skills and Attributes:

• ACCA-qualified or equivalent
• 2-3 years of practice experience, experience in a UK outsourcing firm preferable
• Strong accounting knowledge
• Client focus and commercial awareness
• Strong knowledge of Excel and accounting software
• Self motivated and somebody able to work with minimum supervision
• Excellent command of English (both written and spoken)
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude
