Tax Data Analyst, Business Tax Services (Quantitative Services) (Manager) (Multiple Positions), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, San Jose, CA.

Provide business tax services and tax technology services to help client companies meet complex demands for direct tax reporting and planning. Assist with the design and production of Business Tax Services software solutions, and support new and existing client tools (i.e. R&D Credit – Prodigy Platform). Assess operational and tax life cycle to further optimize quantitative services (QS) technology workstreams. Use analytics tools such as SQL or Power BI to optimize QS tools and data transformation, and create solutions applicable to all QS services. Assist with technical discussions with client technical leads, and draft qualitative supporting documentation items related to QS services, such as Research Credit.

Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business and technology development opportunities.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.


Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Tax, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in tax process and data improvement. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Tax, or a related field and 4 years of work experience in tax process and data improvement.

  • Must have 3 years of experience with the Microsoft Power BI suite, including PowerPivot, Power Query, Power View and Power Map.
  • Must have 3 years of experience examining large data sets using Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Must have 2 years of development experience using Visual Basic for Applications and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Travel required up to 10%, to serve client needs.
