Assistant Financial Controller
Are you a highly motivated individual and who would like to get involved in the detail of data processing, as well as the analytical review of balances? We currently have an Assistant Financial Controller vacancy for at our site in London.
As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will support monthly management accounts processes and records for public market, private equity and property assets. You will be dealing with relatively high volume data sets, and applying appropriate transaction level controls to them, and operating at a summary level where more analytical skills are required to control and explain financial records.
You will be required to understand the principles of investment accounting across a diverse range of assets including equities, bonds, PE funds, Alternatives, Derivatives and Real Estate. These are complex and specialist areas and the role holder is not required to be an expert for all asset classes but will need a level understanding.
This role will provide you with opportunity to grow, working within a small inclusive team which will support autonomy.
Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Financial Controller will involve:
Producing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Supporting monthly analytical reviews to provide assurance that the accounting records fairly state the Scheme's financial position
Completing appropriate reconciliations from the general ledger to 3rd party records
Supporting in the monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting
Processing of monthly journals in a timely, efficient and accurate manner, analysing data for any errors and reporting to the Financial Controller
Analysing asset valuations to identify and address any risks of stale or otherwise inaccurate pricing
Ad-hoc analysis as required
Your skills and qualifications:
Part/Newly Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
Proven experience with supporting in completing month end close for liquid assets, primarily equities and bonds, but also cash and derivatives, and for a diverse portfolio of private assets (PE, Alternatives and direct Property)

Salary: £42500 + depending on skills and experience
