Fixed Income - SPG Lending
The Securitized Products Group (SGP) Lending Team is a global business that provides financing to Morgan Stanley’s top tier clients around the world. The Asia team was set up in 2019 focusing on Asian asset-backed lending to global clients.
Currently, the Hong Kong team is looking for an additional resource to support the team’s daily function. The role will sit within the Fixed Income Division and would require close collaboration with stakeholders across a various range of teams and seniority across jurisdictions and timezones (NY/LDN/AU/HK).
Daily tasks include:
- Assisting with KYC/onboarding for new transactions
- Assisting with team day-to-day operational and admin matters including PnL, risk monitoring, pipeline reporting, and transaction reporting obligations
- Supporting the team in due diligence, asset and borrower analysis as well as financial modelling for underwriting and committee approval process of financing deals
- General deal execution including reviewing of term sheet and transaction legal documents as well as closing/settlement processes working with Operations/Treasury/Finance functions
- Assist in syndication process on broadly syndicated and bilaterally syndicated loans preparing syndication presentations, management briefings, answer potential syndicate lender Q&A, and managing shadow book
- Post-closing asset management matters including waivers/amendments and restructurings as well as ongoing quarterly global credit reviews
- Assist in developing business strategies across jurisdictions and reviewing financing structures
- Putting together market analysis relevant to the sectors/regions of potential deals
- A non-client facing role for which no regulated activity is conducted
Skills Required:
- Preferably a University degree in Finance at undergraduate level or higher
- 1 to 2 years prior relevant experience in the banking or real estate industry; professional certification such as CFA preferred
- Able to articulate the determining factors and inputs behind outputs expressed as numbers
- Data management skills; solid working knowledge of Excel is required
- Strong presentation skills and able to put together concise but thorough materials in Powerpoint
- Analytical, articulate, and good attention to detail
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Highly motivated, with a desire to help improve processes and work together in a team
