Running the day-to-day elements of the overall finance function, including preparation of monthly management accounts/reports and associated commentary.

An established £4m wholesale import-distributor of industrial materials.
Description
- Preparation of monthly management accounts/reports and associated commentary
- Management of the year end process including coordination of the audit and preparation of the statutory financial statements
- Development of budgets, forecasts and business plans
- Purchase ledger
- Schedule for invoices, ensuring efficient and optimal timing
- Sales ledger
- Planning foreign currency purchases in consultation with the Managing Director
- Preparation of cash-flow statements, current and forward looking
- Overall management of the financial systems. This will include overseeing a change to SAGE 200 or SAGE 50
- Reconciling and filing of VAT, import duty returns and Corporation Tax returns to HMRC
- Development and documentation of policies and procedures for all finance activities
- Ad hoc tasks and projects as required
Profile
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Qualified By Experience
- Strong resolution focused approach to work, problem solving and continuous improvement;
- Ability to proactively work independently and as part of a team (as required);
- Motivated and enthusiastic individual with accountancy experience/qualifications as noted above
- Experience of SAGE 200 or SAGE 50 is preferable;
- Implementation of finance systems would be an advantage, but is not essential
- Excellent people skills
