A day in the life
In this role, you will be the driving force that collaborates with accounting statutory and compliance teams and technical teams around the globe to deliver world class solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible - all while maintaining a strong customer focus. You will work with stakeholders and multiple global accounting teams to identify, define, and specify solutions meeting our customers' needs. You will work with multiple technical teams to deliver those solutions.
About the hiring group
You will be the driving force that orchestrates all the moving pieces as needed to ensure successful and on-time delivery. You will also be the face and voice for the statutory and compliance project teams you work with. You will ensure that all stakeholders are aware of outstanding issues and project status. You will tailor your communications to specific audiences as well as communicate clearly and concisely to both accounting and technical audiences. Finally, as a member of the team you will take an active role in our focus on continuous improvement.
Job responsibilities
• Drive international accounting initiatives and projects
• Worldwide business partnering within the Amazon group, liaising with Tax and tech teams
• Understanding statutory and tax reporting and translating these into technical requirements
• Drive improvements in accounting processes, internal workflows and the implementation of best practices
Basic Qualifications:
• Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
• 10+ years of relevant experience in Accounting
• Technical GAAP experience
• Statutory and tax reporting expertise in an international environment
• Exceptional ability in understanding complex accounting structures and strong analytical expertise
• Used to work and handle multiple GAAPs
• IT-literate with solid MS Office skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent listening skills, concise communications and targeting the message to specific audiences
• Convincing personality and ability to work both independently and as a team-player
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in English, able to work effectively with global teams
• Entrepreneurial, hands on, can-do attitude and ability to think outside the box, "git it done " attitude
• Proven problem solving skills and technical project experience
• Detail oriented, yet able to look at a wide array of choices and identify what truly matters
