Marks Sattin are delighted to be partnering with a Global Services Business to help appoint a new Group Financial Controller. The role will report directly to the CFO and be a key part of the Senior Finance Leadership team.
This role will include responsibility for Accounting, Financial Control, and Statutory Financial Reporting for all entities in the UK and Europe.
You will be responsible for accounting, financial reporting and taxation across all UK & European operations, more specifically your responsibilities will include:
The ideal candidate will be ACA (or equivalent) qualified with experience gained in a large practice and/or professional services environment. You will be able to provide insight and to apply accounting standards in a commercial environment to enable the Executive team to make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also a pre-requisite.
This role will include responsibility for Accounting, Financial Control, and Statutory Financial Reporting for all entities in the UK and Europe.
You will be responsible for accounting, financial reporting and taxation across all UK & European operations, more specifically your responsibilities will include:
- Financial Accounting - annual financial statement production; management of the external audit process
- Financial Control - maintain financial control framework to ensure accuracy of monthly financial books and records and quarterly certification to parent company
- Quarterly presentation of enterprise balance sheet review to parent company stakeholder group
- Corporation Tax - work with advisers to ensure timely accurate CT returns are completed; ensure payments to HMRC are made on a timely basis
- Sales Taxes (VAT) - ensure accurate, compliant and timely returns are completed and that HMRC payments are made on a timely basis
- Delivery of accurate monthly financial accounts/reporting within the required deadlines
- Ownership of the consolidation of results for month end submission to the parent company
- Onboarding acquisitions into areas of existing responsibility
- Management of the annual statutory audit and accounts process as well as additional regulatory audit processes
- Management of accounting systems and financial process governance
